Training
Prior to returning to school to obtain my degree in Social Work, I worked in various capacities in human services/social services agencies in Jefferson County, NY ranging from case manager to program coordinator to counselor. In every position, I learned that there is no substitute for developing authentic relationships and gaining rich life experiences. Upon returning to school for my graduate studies in Social Work, I received training doing individual and family therapy as well as clinical assessments at Samaritan Medical Center Behavioral Health Unit and Carthage Behavioral Health. Since earning my Master’s degree and obtaining my license, I have worked as an outpatient therapist, providing therapy for children, adolescent, and adults. Most recently, I have worked as an elementary school social worker. I am committed to ongoing consultation and continuing education in order to best meet the needs of my clients.
My practice is built on trust, pragmatic counseling, and professionalism. I view therapy as a journey to a healthier and fuller self. My goal is to help my clients navigate the twists and turns of life through genuine and authentic relationships.
Education
I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of New England in Biddeford, ME. Prior to returning to graduate school for the second time, I received a Master's Degree in Education from American Intercontinental University and a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology with a minor in Elementary Education from Vermont College of Norwich University in Montpelier, VT.
Personal
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, DIY projects, and outdoor activities. I am married and live with my husband, two daughters, three dogs and one cat. I hope at some point to incorporate my dogs into my practice.
